In September of 2003, the quality management system at Lethbridge Iron Works was upgraded to ISO 9001: 2000. As all of the important elements of QS 9000 are covered in this latest revision, registration to QS 9000 was relinquished. We shall continue to utilize the tools developed under QS 9000 that have become standard operating procedures, some of which are summarized below:
Advance
Product Quality Planning (APQP); is the main vehicle within
which the quality system operates. It provides the opportunity
to evaluate each individual casting quality requirements and
develop control plans.
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); ensures that the customer requirements are
understood, and that our process is capable of producing castings
that consistently meet these requirements.
Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA); all aspects of the process are considered
by the team to prevent problems before they appear.
Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA); ensures that the inspection and test equipment
is operating at its optimum level of precision and accuracy.
The backbone of the quality system still remains
a strong dedicated workforce that is cross functionally trained
and capable of the highest level of performance.
We shall continue to strive for the best casting quality available by building on more than 100 years of experience, taking advantage of the latest technological developments and maintaining registration to the industries leading and most recognized quality systems.
