Lethbridge Iron Works maintains our own in-house pattern shop
to allow us to respond quickly to customer needs. Our pattern
shop is fully equipped with the latest woodworking, plastic, and
metal capabilities. Journeyman patternmakers ensure tooling is
of the highest possible quality.
External Pattern
Shops
Lethbridge Iron Works partners with three external pattern shops
to provide expedited deliveries when our internal shop is busy.
These three subcontractors have a proven track record and are
approved vendors under our ISO 9002 quality program. All three
employ knowledgeable, experienced craftsmen and are capable of
working directly with our customers. Two of these shops are located
in the Vancouver, BC area and one is situated in Hamilton, ON.
All have full patternmaking capabilities including wood, plastic
and metal and the ability to work with customers' rapid prototyping
needs.
Rapid Prototyping
Capabilities
Lethbridge Iron Works uses Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology in
the manufacture of new pattern equipment from our customers' existing
3-D models. This enables the customer to have pattern and corebox
equipment manufactured precisely without the need to spend time
and money making conventional blueprints. Other advantages of
using RP technology include:
Please feel free to contact us about this process as it enables us to supply our customers with the most accurate and cost effective pattern equipment available today.
External Machine
Shops
Two local machine shops assist us by machining iron shell coreboxes
and producing CNC machined metal high production patterns for
direct mounting on a pattern plate. Both shops employ experienced
journeyman machinists knowledgeable in foundry metal tooling and
both are approved vendors under our ISO 9002 quality program.
